GeoSciML Version 2.0 (released December 2008)
GeoSciML is an xml-based data transfer standard developed by the Interoperability Working Group (IWG) of the Committee for the Management and Application of Geoscience Information (CGI) of the International Union of Geological Sciences (IUGS). Australia is represented on the IWG by geologists and software engineers from GA, GSV and CSIRO. GeoSciML is endorsed by the Australian Chief Government Geologist's Committee as the preferred model for interoperable geological data transfer.
